I've been collecting tiny things for years now, not one particular thing, just anything that catches my eye. I tend to pick things up when I'm on holidays, so they become souvenirs with memories attached. I've always been pretty haphazard about where they end up, just tucking them in wherever there is a space to fill.
I love the old printer trays (I've done a couple of Letterpress workshops and fell in love with them then) and bought one a while back but did nothing with it for a while. I was eventually inspired to get the tray up on the wall and bring some of my scattered collection together. It gave me a lot of pleasure to do and I really like the look of it. I have previously posted a photo on the RBC fb page but never sat down to think about it beyond that.

I think my love of miniatures started in junior school, as I listened to The Borrowers being read at the end of every school day. My schooldays predate the TV series and film, and sparked my imagination. I used to lose myself in the images I created in my head - I had such happy times as a child getting lost in stories. The Borrowers has been an enduring love, though, and is now part of my personal lexicon (too small a dinner is deemed perfect for Ariadne).

I love watching miniature kitchen videos - utterly bonkers and totally adorable. I can't get enough of The Great Big Tiny Design Challenge. I loved the Small is Beautiful exhibition in Kensington. During Lockdown, I even had a go at building a tiny room (my eyes were practically bleeding by the end of it).

That's probably more than anyone needs to know about my tiny obsession. But if you're drawn to miniatures, I'd highly recommend the exhibition and the tiny cooking videos that are all over YouTube.
