Bookbinding

I have done bookbinding previously and it's a satisfying craft to people like me who love everything about stationery (apart from spelling it!). My previous efforts have involved stiff card covered with paper and pretty paper to hide the ugly bits. The nice thing about making these soft-cover notebooks is the absence of glue.

The covers are made from old exercise book covers covered in strips of washi tape, which I bought very cheaply online. Ten sheets of A4 cut in half was enough for the two notebooks I made. As I already had a little kit, this was a very cheap make, which is always a bonus.

Ali Manning does a nice little tutorial should you want to have a go and aren't sure where to start. She's a clear explainer and has great tips for using stuff you probably have around the home rather than buying bookbinding tools.

Fantastic idea for using washi tape - I have a few reels of it!
