Area of chaos

Having retired after 27 years as a primary teacher, I had to clear some space at home to house the treasures I couldn't be parted from. I was spoilt for choice in terms of areas of chaos but opted to focus on a shelving unit in my spare room. It's been a disorganised dumping ground for a very long time and I have truly dreaded needing anything I thought might be hiding in this mess.

I'd already emptied two shelves and shifted some crap before I thought to take a photo. I got rid of an old art magazine collection from the bookshelves in my living room (a local community group was pleased to receive it).

I moved a few books that I wanted to keep to these shelves and the rest were offered to family and friends (I waved goodbye to a box and two bags of children's books). Loads of odds and ends were added to the growing pile for the local community group, who were desperately looking for saleable items. I'm pleased to say there was very little to go in the bin.

The end result may not look much better organised but it is. Bags of crafting materials have gone from the floor too, along with an embarrassing amount of dust.

I'm not sure how long it will stay organised but it's a start.
